How union apprenticeship windows work

Joint apprenticeship training committees (JATCs) run by a union local and its contractors decide when to accept applications, usually once or twice a year. Some take only a set number of applications, some require mail or in-person applications, and most need a high school diploma or GED, proof of algebra, a driver’s license and an aptitude test. Missing a window can mean waiting a year.

When do union apprenticeships take applications?

Each local JATC sets its own window, often once a year and sometimes for only a few days or until a cap is reached. This page lists the windows we could verify on official pages, sorted by deadline.
